Partner deal registration triage with consistent decisions
Review partner submissions fairly while protecting ownership, evidence, and communication. Give channel teams a repeatable way to handle incomplete requests, account conflicts, commercial exceptions, expiration, and partner follow-through without hiding judgment inside an informal inbox at each documented review and appeal stage.

Publish an intake standard
Require partner identity, account, buyer context, opportunity description, partner activity, next step, submission date, and requested support. Explain fields and response timing clearly. Collect only necessary buyer information. Coordinators check completeness but should not promise protection, benefits, or account ownership outside program rules.
Check identity and existing activity
Normalize company name and domain, then check hierarchy, opportunities, account ownership, prior registrations, partner work, and direct sales engagement. Preserve the submission as received. Conflicts should show competing records, dates, owners, and policy question so channel leadership can make an informed decision.
Apply criteria consistently
Use documented eligibility, evidence, timing, account, conflict, and expiration rules. Record the policy version and how facts map to it. When policy does not address a situation, route an exception rather than stretching a convenient rule. Channel leaders own precedent and commercial judgment.
Separate review from support
A partner may need technical help, content, an introduction, or escalation while registration remains under review. Track these needs separately. Helping does not imply approval. A decline still deserves a permitted reason, available next path, and appeal process without disclosure of confidential account details.
Control expiration and changes
Approved registrations need scope, effective date, expiration, renewal condition, account coverage, partner owner, company owner, and progress evidence. Record changes in entity, opportunity, contribution, ownership, or timing. Coordinators gather updates; program leaders approve extensions, transfers, and exceptions with an audit trail.
Review program health
Measure response time, incomplete submissions, decision reasons, disputes, expirations, overlap, progression, and communication quality. Sample decisions for consistency and source support. If reviewers repeatedly need exceptions, improve the policy or intake. Trust comes from timely, evidence-based treatment and explicit judgment boundaries.
Share program guidance and aggregate lessons with partners without exposing another partner's account detail. Clear examples of sufficient evidence and common delays can improve future submissions. Keep individual commercial decisions inside the authorized relationship and review process.
Compare similar decisions from different reviewers and periods. If the same facts lead to different outcomes, identify whether the policy changed, evidence differed, or judgment was inconsistent. Record the explanation and correct guidance when needed. The purpose is not to remove all discretion from channel leadership. It is to make discretion visible, bounded, and understandable to the teams that must operate the resulting account relationship.

Frequently asked questions
Can operations approve registration?
Operations validates facts and policy fit; authorized channel leadership owns commercial approval.
What should a decline include?
Give a permitted reason, relevant path, next step, and appeal route without confidential detail. The response should state what the partner may do next and when another submission would be appropriate. Keep competing sales activity, another partner's evidence, and internal commercial judgment inside the authorized review record.
