How to run a positioning message house workshop
Align a team on audience, problem, differentiated value, proof, and message boundaries.
Understand the decision
Bring recent customer language, win-loss notes, competitor claims, product evidence, and the current customer profile. Everyone should inspect the same inputs before proposing copy. Name one decision owner because a workshop cannot replace accountable judgment.
Put the practice to work
Build from audience and urgent situation to promise, benefits, reasons to believe, and proof. Require every differentiating claim to answer compared with what. The comparison may be a competitor, internal work, or doing nothing, but it must match the buyer's choice.
Review and improve
List claims the team will not make and terms that require evidence. Test the result in a landing-page introduction, outbound opener, and discovery conversation. Revise when the core idea cannot travel clearly across those settings.
