How Long Does Go-To-Market Strategy And Revenue Operations Access Outlive the Assignment?

Review the evidence that assignment-related access was removed when required, keeping approvals, exceptions and system confirmation distinct.

Define the assignment and access under review

Choose a bounded set of ended or transferred GTM assignments. Record the effective end time, affected systems and access that should change under the organization’s approved process. Include assignments whose removal work is still open so the review does not exclude unresolved exposure.

This is a proposed operational evidence review, not a security certification or a published industry benchmark. The responsible system or security owner defines the removal requirement and any approved continuing access. A reviewer should not invent a universal grace period or change permissions simply to make the report complete.

Reconcile the request with system confirmation

For each assignment and account, distinguish the removal request, authorized action and confirmation from the system owner. Record the relevant timestamps and evidence location without copying passwords, tokens or other secrets into the review log. Keep unknown status separate from confirmed active access.

Check the approved inventory for application roles, shared resources and integrations associated with the assignment. An account disappearing from one directory does not demonstrate that every separate service has been addressed. Ask the responsible owner what the confirmation covers and which dependencies remain unresolved.

Report timing and exceptions honestly

Measure the interval between the required effective change and confirmed completion using consistent timestamps. Show unresolved cases and their age separately from completed cases. Retain approved exceptions with an owner and review condition; do not silently count them as either failures or completed removals.

Have another reviewer examine ambiguous confirmations and inconsistent timelines. Group delays by actionable cause, such as an incomplete system inventory, a request sent to the wrong owner or missing completion evidence. A missing receipt may indicate a documentation gap, but it must not be reported as proof that access was removed.

Close the evidence gap through the accountable owner

Illustrative review: a departing coordinator’s main account is disabled, but a separate campaign platform still lists a local account. The reviewer routes the discrepancy to its authorized administrator and waits for confirmation under the existing process.

Save the finding, assigned owner, action reference and final scope of confirmation. Recheck unresolved cases according to the organization’s process. The review improves handoff evidence; it does not authorize bypassing access controls, sharing credentials or independently altering unrelated accounts.
