How Complete Is the Go-To-Market Strategy And Revenue Operations Intake Record at First Review?
Review whether incoming GTM requests reach an accountable owner with enough context for a clear first decision.

Choose the queue and first decision
Define which request channels and work types belong in the review. Identify the first useful decision: accept the work, request clarification, decline it or route it to another owner. An automatic receipt does not itself establish acceptance.
Save the incoming population for a defined period, including withdrawn and unresolved items. This is an internal review proposal rather than a published benchmark. Keep urgent incident requests separate where their handling differs from routine campaign work.
Check the request at arrival
Inspect the desired outcome, intended audience, due date, source material and requester contact. Record what was actually available when the request arrived; later edits should not make an incomplete original submission appear complete.
Check whether the assigned owner accepted responsibility and whether required decisions have a named source. Use specific missing-input categories. “Needs more context” is less actionable than “target segment has not been approved.”
Follow returns and waiting time
Track receipt, first review, clarification request and owner acceptance as separate events. Distinguish time waiting for the requester from time waiting for internal routing. Keep open items and their age visible alongside completed requests.
Report counts by work type and return reason before summarizing a rate. Review a sample of ambiguous cases with another coordinator. A fast first response can coexist with a long wait for a usable decision, so report those outcomes separately.
Improve the specific failure point
Illustrative finding: campaign requests arrive with a deadline but no approved message. The coordinator asks for the message owner during intake and records whether approval is pending before accepting the production date.
Change the form or routing rule only where the review supports it. Tell requesters what a complete submission needs and where status updates belong. Recheck the same work types after the change, noting volume or staffing differences that affect comparison.
